Eva Longoria
Actress, entrepreneur, and activist, "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria Parker pours her time, energy and heart into numerous philanthropic endeavors that are making a difference in the world around us. Longoria, founder of Eva's Heroes, which provides an after school program for individuals with developmental disabilities, is also the national spokesperson for Padres Contra el Cancer, which helps Latino families who have children with cancer by providing them with educational, financial, and language resources.
The face for L'Oreal, and the executive producer and host for the National Council of La Raza ALMA Awards, Eva is producing her first documentary HARVEST. HARVEST brings the struggles of the estimated 500,000 mostly Latino children who work in this country's fields - unprotected by the Fair Labor Standards Act because they are farm workers - out of the shadows.
Eva is involved with the United Farm Workers, the Dolores Huerta Foundation, the Mexican American Legal Defense, and Education Fund, and works to bring attention to important issues such as voter registration and the census. Longoria is the owner of BESO restaurants, a production company, UnbeliEVAble Productions, and an eco-friendly development firm, The GreenVille Project.
